Due to the democratic nature of SEO and ever changing ranking and updates, you need to make sure your website is as optimised as it can be. Your site will need a regular SEO Service. This section outlines some measures to keep track of you SEO campaign.
Revisiting, Fixing and Optimising for SEO
Businesses with important keywords ranking high on organic listings simply cannot afford to lose their positions as it will mean a decrease in traffic, leads, and sales. If you don’t maintain your SEO campaign you will lose position. On the positive side you may discover new keywords and be able to optimise for these words in the future.
SEO Checklist
Keyword Ranking
Check for new ranking for certain keywords by looking at server logs or your analytics program. do you rank for additional long tail keyword phrases? If you have lost ranking you can:
- change the order and content in the important HTML tags e.g. h1, title etc, (See Good Web Writing).
- add new content
- review keywords
- check high ranking pages and pages that convert well and create new or improved linking campaigns around them.
Always have a PPC Campaign prepared just in case you lose ranking, (See PPC – Paid Advertising).
Broken links
Do you need to archive some older articles or update the content, some articles may be outdated and reflect an unprofessional view if someone sees them. You will encounter broken links when web sites disappear change there url address fear not use the broken link checker. W3C Broken Link Checker
New Content
Keep up to date with your subject/product field track the new, new stories, articles, keywords use Google Alerts to stay up to date Facebook and Twitter. Remember it may take up to 3 to 4 weeks to see if the maintenance has been effective
